Analyses of a Career as a Dentist - 1987 Words

Dentists are often thought of as people to be feared. Most people try to put off going to the dentist until their teeth hurt so much that they have no choice but to visit the feared dental office. Waiting for pain in the mouth or gums before visiting a dentist is one of the worst things a person can do. Paul J. Flaer, et al. observes, â€Å"Fear in approaching the dental visit may be generated by psychosocial factors such as history of bad experience(s) at the dentist and by the effect of poor representations of dental treatment in the media† (104). If more people could get over their dentophobia they might have better oral health and probably better overall health. Many people do not realize how important the dentist really is but the†¦show more content†¦Then the dentist has to fill the caries (cavities). There are two types of fillings being used in most dental offices. The metal amalgam that looks silver in the mouth and the composite that appears white on the tooth. The location and severity of the cavity determines what type of filling should be used. Usually shots to numb the mouth are used before the drilling begins. Some dentist use laughing gas to dull the pain of the needed work. Dentist need steady hands and good depth persecution when drilling a patient’s teeth. Dentists also need to be able to take care of more serious problems such as root canals, crowns, wisdom teeth, and making dentures. These procedures are more challenging and require preparation during the Dental School and clinical training years. Some dentists specialize as dental surgeons. A dental surgeon’s duties include tooth extraction, root canals, and crowns. Orthodontists are the branch of dentists that most often make dentures and putting braces on teeth to straighten the bite. Dentists must also do a lot of paper work. This can be a boring task but is very important. Keeping good records for the patients, filling out insurance claims, and the necessary governmental regulations is of the utmost importance. No task the dentist has to perform should be taken lightly. Work environment Dentists usually work with others in a dental office. A Brief Note On Pollution And Water Pollution - 1159 Words

The Mississippi River is the most polluted river in America, many chemicals such as phosphate and chlorine can be polluted in the water. Precipitation can cause runoff water and can sweep trash and chemicals into the rivers or any nearest water source. This project is concerned about if precipitation has an effect on pollution in the Spoon river. Anybody of water that is contaminated with pollutants, is called Water Pollution. There are two types of water pollution, Nonpoint and Point specific pollution. Nonpoint pollution cannot be found by a specific location and can be caused by runoff water, an example of this pollution is pesticides (Flinn Scientific, 2009). Chemicals and fertilizers can run off into the water supply(Mary Beth Abel Hughes, James Sammons, Scott Eddleman, Pamela J. W. Gore, Daniel P. Murray, Patsy Eldridge, 2007). Water moves over the ground and picks up chemicals and other waste into a body of water (Flinn Scientific, 2009). Pollution that can be pinpointed at a specific place and can be found and reduce the problem of pollution, an example of this pollution is factories, is known as Point Specific Pollution. (Flinn Scientific, 2009). Since Earth is becoming industrialized, water is being used and more waste is thrown into usable water (Flinn Scientific, 2009) About 70% of factories and industries dump waste into usable water(40factsaboutwaterpollution, 2013). Organization Development and Change †MyAssignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about the Internal and External Contextual Factors. Answer: An organization can be defined as an individual or a group of people who collaborates together to achieve some specific commercial goals. Some business organizations are set up in order to earn money for the owners and some non-profit organizations are for the public purposes. In other words, an organization can be defined as a structured group of people need to pursue a collective goal (Cummings Worley, 2014). The objective of this essay is to gain some knowledge and understanding of the internal and external contextual factors that will mark its impact on a business organization and its way of making decisions. The essay throws light on a hypothetical business start up, a brief description of the organization, its size, the industry and the country or countries in which it will operate and the strategies and visions it will adopt. It also includes the internal and external contextual factors that will impact the business organization, the probable risks of the business, the practices which needs to be adopted to enhance the organizational performance, the most important functions of the organization and its relation to its performance. I am planning to start a business of costume jewelry in Sydney. It will manufacture different designs of earring, necklaces, pendants and bangles. All the products will have unique designs which will differentiate it from other jewelers of the city, attracting more and more customers. Initially, the size of the jewelry shop would be medium, depending on the capital. The customers will have a wide range of costume jewelry offerings to choose from. They will also have the facility to customize the items based on their choice. Moreover, the design of a shop highly matters in order to attract people. The shop will have colorful lights all over with wall arts. Any business organization has some internal and external environmental forces which will impact its growth. It is beyond the control of the business owner and their management team which will affect the organization. These forces can be the customers, competitors, creditors, socio cultural organizations, government, national and international organizations, political parties and others. Some of the above forces may directly or indirectly affect the progress of the business (Cummings Worley, 2014). A business organization has some general and specific forces. General forces are the ones which affect an individual firm indirectly and specific forces affect an enterprise on a daily basis. Moreover a business organization is dynamic and it keeps changing, be in terms of technological improvement, change in the preferences of consumers or the entry of any new competition of the organization in market. Uncertainties are there in any business organization because it is too difficult to pre dict what is going to happen in the future, especially when the changes are occurring too frequently (Baker, 2014). The internal environmental forces have direct impact on any business organization; on the other hand the external environmental forces have indirect influence on any business organization. Some of the internal forces which will have impact on any business organization are discussed here. The founders value system plays a very important role on the objectives of the business organization, choice of business, its practices and policies (Fransen, 2013). Vision is also an important factor in achieving the mission or aim of any organization. If the vision or prediction is wrong then it can hamper the progress of the business organization. Moreover, the business organizations structure also influences its decisions. The structure refers to the organizations board of directors, management, employees and others. The organizations style and structure may lead to the delay of making any decision (Kuratko, Hornsby Covin, 2014). The external forces have indirect impact on the business organization. Some of them are mentioned here. The working or operating environment of the organization needs to be professional as it has indirect impact on the organizations operations. The suppliers need to be efficient as they supply the raw materials to the organization (Wheelen Hunger, 2017). Along with these factors, the organization should be able to maintain a good amount customers base. A businesss progress and existence depends on its customers. The intermediaries of marketing which include agents and other middlemen help any company to find its customers and financers. If the marketing is not done properly then it would impact the business organization. Moreover, a business progress depends on how much media attention it is getting. Media helps in getting mass attention, so adequate media coverage is required for its growth (Kuratko, Hornsby Covin, 2014). There are also some business risks which will confront the organization. It can be categorized into five factors. Those factors can be economic, social, political, legal and technical. The economic environment refers to the business economy and the socio economic infrastructure. If the businesss economy is not good enough it will risk its growth (Wild, Wild Han, 2014). Moreover, the sociological factors like cost, value system of the society, conventions, customs, labors mobility and others have a huge impact on the business organization. The political factors include the influence of any political organization, the governments ideology or the party which is in power, philosophy of the political parties, extent and the nature of bureaucracy, influence of the primary groups and more (Kaplan Mikes, 2012). Legal factors are the flexibility of the law and the adaptability of other laws which are governing the business organization. It may also include the courts rulings and decisions. With all the above factors, comes the last one which is the influence of technical environment. Any business is largely influenced by technical development. The technology which is adapted by the organization determines the quality and the type of products or services it will produce and the equipments which are used (Sadgrove, 2016). There are several business practices that need to be adopted to enhance organizational performance. Those are discussed here. Firstly, it is necessary to choose the right equipment for any business start up. It reduces the chance of any risky errors and it will improve the way of doing business. Therefore, before buying any equipment, it is important to thoroughly check the present as well as future needs of any business. The equipments should be in good condition along with several features, which will give good results. If any replacement is required, it should be done beforehand (Kaplan Mikes, 2012). Secondly, use of right technology to improve the operations. With the advent of digital media, marketing has gone too far. Digital marketing can be done to reach the international customers. Web technology helps in improving the business marketing and reach to the furthest corners. Online purchases would help the business getting international acclamation, it should be tracked and ch ecked whether any customer is facing any kind of problem or not, on a daily basis (Fransen, 2013). Thirdly, employees behavior should be checked daily. It is important to keep a track record of all the employees working for the organization. If they are facing any kind of problem in the organization, it should be immediately taken care of. Fourthly, while doing the business, it is important to keep a record of the product which is having the most percentage of profit and which needs improvement. There should be a suggestion box for the customers, which will help in the improvement of the business organization. Customers should have lucrative opening offers and discounts to gain more and more attention. Moreover, media attention is necessary for any business start up, so the opening ceremony should have media coverage (Chen et al., 2014). This essay also discusses the most important functions within the business organization and how it is related to its performance. Firstly, the production function, which is the creation of products and services, undertaking several processes and using proper equipments. The production depends on the organization, labors, capital, materials and facilities for the smooth operation of the business. Moreover, it is important to meet the delivery schedules within the given time and perform the operations at the minimal costs (Schaper, 2014). Secondly, the function of marketing, which is the way of getting the products and services to the consumers, satisfying their desires and needs. It is the function of bringing together the producers of the organization with its customers, in a relationship of exchanging and ownership transfer takes place. Marketing involves product distribution, promotion and pricing. This function also involves the digital marketing, which is very important nowadays. It enhances product sales and marketing. Thirdly, the finance function of the business organization, which includes decisions related to investment, finance and dividend (Garca-Morales, Jimnez-Barrionuevo Gutirrez-Gutirrez, 2012). Fourthly, the human resource function deals with the human side of any business. It maintains an effective and capable workforce, motivating the employees to give their fullest in order to achieve the goals of the organization. Fifthly, the information function, which is basically, concerned with the track records of any business. It helps in maintaining the organizational records, analyzing and providing information, operational function as well as public relations function. Last but not the least, is the innovation function, which is the implementation of new and innovative ideas or opinions to enhance the business performance. The ideas can be of anyone, be it the owner, or the associates or even the consumers suggestions (Zikmund et al., 2013). To conclude, an organization is set up to achieve certain goals. Various organizations have different policies; objectives and work flow which help them grow. While setting up a business it is important to keep in mind the above factors. No matter how small the business organization is, it is necessary to keep all sorts of records and check that marketing is done properly. Marketing is the powerhouse of any business organization; it is responsible for a successful organization. Moreover, digital marketing must be done which will be beneficial for any industry. It helps the organization reach the international markets and gain mass attention. References: Baker, M. J. (2014).Marketing strategy and management. Palgrave Macmillan. The Simple Life I Remember Essays - Run, , Term Papers

The Simple Life I Remember Oh how my life has changed, but its not just my life its everyones now with all this inventing going on the things we have today are so different then when I was growing up. In 1861 when I was a child we lived in poor little run down shacks of wood on dirt streets with no iceboxes to keep our food from spoiling, we had to keep our food in cellars or in running streams in our back yards. Now a days kids ride trolleys to and from school, but when I was a child we had to walk for miles in the snow, rain, and sometimes violent storms. These kids think they have it bad, well I wish they were around to see what all we had compared to what they have today. The Morse code for example we didnt have that but they do and they can send messages to people all over the country. They have iceboxes, which also means they have fresh food for weeks. They have running water in the house so no more running to the well to get fresh water. Bathrooms in the house, no more running outside late at night to use the bathroom. The times are changing so much. An industrial revolution is happening right before my eyes. Things are being produced more rapidly and efficiently. Factories are hiring large amounts of workers which means alot of new houses are being built. There are apartments for people who dont need houses, and large housing facilities for people with large families. Our lives are changing so much that I hardly get to see my wife, I come in from the factory, eat and go to bed to get up early in the morning to head off to work again. My kids have no time to do chores with all the schooling that they are doing they have alot of homework that they have to complete because education is big and many kids are going to college these days. I have no idea what the world will be like in years to come, but I can only imagine that my grandchildren will have it even much better then how we have it now. If the world continues at a pace it is at right now then I can say that by the 1930s the world will be so much different that people will have to get high educations and complete college to understand all of the simple things of the future life. Title Nine Essay Example For Students

Title Nine Essay Throughout generations, humans have played organized games and sports. For that same amount of time, it has been instilled that men are faster, stronger, and just plain better at athletics. We also have come to realize that the slower, weaker, and not as good women make up for physical strength with mental prowess, to succeed on the playing fields and courts of the world. However, this concept has not caught up with athletic directors, coaches, and trustees boards across the country. Women’s athletics is still not given the financial backing, the practice facilities, the correct training personnel, and the support of the general public for building winning programs; on the other hand, losing men’s programs are given any and everything for mediocre results. Title IX was instated 25 years ago, but the results are hard to see, if they can be seen at all. In states like Connecticut, where there are no professional sports teams, state universities are the big ticket in town. The University of Connecticut has two major sports, men’s and women’s basketball. We will write a custom essay on Title Nine specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now Winning programs, that include national championships, have everyone in the state talking. They are talking about two successful coaches, two successful teams, and one successful athletic department. According to the UConn Athletic web page, Jim Calhoun, coach of the UConn’s Men’s Basketball team, has a 304-120 (. 717) record and 1 national championship in his 13 years as head coach. Geno Auriemma, coach of the UConn’s Women’s Basketball team, has a record of 393-95 (. 805) and 2 national championships over the past 15 years. One would think that with seniority, a better winning percentage, and more national championships the women’s coach would be paid better. Yeah okay, this is America. Geno Auriemma’s salary was about $ 250,000 for the year, while his male coaching counterpart made $ 875,000. (March 2000 issue of Connecticut Magazine) This practice is actually quite common. Seniority or winning does not earn more money, because it is believed that the men’s game is harder to coach then the women’s game. Umm†¦ am I missing something? A sport is a sport, no matter who is playing it, or so I thought. According to the Detroit Free Press coaches of women’s teams, earn 67 cents to every dollar that a coach of a men’s team earns. These were shown not to be the only discrepancies between men’s and women’s program. The Detroit Free Press analysis shows women’s sports get 25 percent of the athletic budgets, 27 percent of the recruiting dollars and 38 percent of the financial aid. The average Big 12 School spent an average of 2. 2 million dollars on its men’s programs. The average spent on women’s programs was $ 922,097. That’s a difference of about 1. 3 million dollars. These trends continue throughout the country. Athletic Directors are quick to add women’s programs to be compliant with the law, but do little to support them once they are up and running. Women’s programs are then put into an impossible situation; they are not given the resources to bring in the best recruits, the best coaches, or the best equipment. They are then told to win, and if they do not they are in danger of losing their sport. If they happen to win, it is often ignored or forgotten quickly. As we move into the 21st century, we have to wake up as a nation. Equality is not simply giving males and females the same number of athletes or sports, but rather support. This support should be financial, emotional, and physical. All athletes should look up at home games and see the President of the University, the Athletic Director, and alumni at a game. In the perfect world, this would happen but this is the real world. In the real world, most people can’t tell you who won the national championship in women’s basketball, but can tell you every loser in the past 10 Super Bowls.

There are several types of hooks, but they have one thing in common good hooks grab your readers attention and motivate them to keep reading. Lets take a look at the most common hook types: Quotes; Questions; Analogies; Philosophical statements; Facts; Anecdotes; Stories from the first person. Choose any one of these types, and just make sure that it fits your topic and your writing style. Once you hooked your readers, you must provide them with the background information on your subject, to make sure that your audience understands the context of your paper and is familiar with all the specific details. One of the most common mistakes is assuming that your readers know as much about your topic as you do. Dont provide them with detailed and sophisticated data in the introduction section, just write a necessarily brief summary, and go further. You also have to explain why your topic is important, and how your paper may help others who are interested in this subject. Usually, introductions end with a thesis statement its a backbone of your paper, all your arguments and claims must be directly related to this idea. Obviously, its not really easy to write a good thesis statement, but if you take into account our advice, you wont feel any troubles with it. Our advice is simple dont make your thesis too broad. The broader your thesis statement, the more information you need to prove and support it. Nobody wants to read a huge text which is basically about nothing in particular. Introducing your key statement, you can also give a brief description of arguments that youre going to use, to help your readers understand why you choose this point of view. Sometimes, a thesis statement may be even longer than one sentence. Just make sure that it expresses your point clearly, and its not too long. Build Your Argumentation A practice of using three arguments to support your point is quite old and common, because it really works. If you have three paragraphs, each one of which provides readers with a strong argument described in details, your point will look persuasive and strong. This is exactly what you need. At the same time, dont forget that you shouldnt be focused only on your point. We suggest mentioning a few strongest counterarguments, to let your readers understand why an opposite point is wrong. Here is an effective method: describe advantages and disadvantages of the idea. Introduce an opposite point, and rewrite your thesis statement right after that. Another extremely important thing is that if you write something, it must be supported by good evidence. Never count on your readers to just believe you. Prepare for the critical perception, and make all that you can to overcome it. Your evidence must be informative, credible, and relevant. To get enough facts, we suggest preparing for writing and collecting as much information as possible. Along with this, avoid common mistakes that can destroy your paper: Making up facts this is probably the worst thing you can do. Dont even try to fool your audience. All of your readers and instructors can check any fact any time they want, so dont fail because of the lie. Being highly emotional. Emotions are good for narrative essays, but not for argumentative essays. Rely on facts only, and dont be emotional. We also suggest moving from one thought to another through transitional phrases. Such an approach will allow your readers to follow your line of thoughts naturally, without missing any logical details. Dont be afraid to remind them your thesis statement a couple times, it helps stay focused on general ideas of your paper and on thoughts written in any paragraph in particular. Conclusion Once you provided your readers with all necessary information, you have to push them to conclusions. All information must be systematized, so that your audience could get your point clear and have something to think about, after reading. Essays that motivate readers to think are always successful, so make sure that your conclusion section is really good, and your entire paper makes a strong impression. To do it well, follow three simple rules: Repeat your thesis once again. It will help you explain why your claims are really important. Explain what will happen if people dont take your side regarding this issue. This is a really good thing in case youre writing about a controversial issue that is related to the society, politics, health, environment, and so on. Summarize your arguments and explain how they prove your point. Your essay must be persuasive, and all arguments must be tied to your general idea. If you follow our simple advice and do everything right, your essay will get highest grades. Dont be afraid of such a kind of writing task, because everyone is able to cope with it. All you need is practice and a proper writing method.
